For decades, performance textiles and membrane technologies have developed considerably — yet construction techniques have not changed in over 50 years. Seams are traditionally sewn, puncturing the barrier membrane, which is then seam-taped to ‘patch-up’ the problem.
Cohesive “CIBS” replaces stitching and seam-taping with seamless, ultra-durable seams using an innovative inline lamination process that bonds membrane-film to membrane-film. The system never degrades the performance of the textile and creates a uniform composite structure across the entire product.

Overlap, sewn shell, ultrasonic welded, inline and offset seams are all compatible depending on the application.
Our proprietary adhesives are compatible with bio-based and bio-degradable options, and we can advise on eco-friendly membrane suppliers. More durable products align with global drives to reduce landfill.
Licensed factories are supplied with proprietary laminated textiles and adhesives applicable to their final product. Shell, lining and membrane can be sourced by you or recommended by DSEAMS.
