Glossary term
Overlap seam
A seam geometry where two fabric panels overlap along their edges and are bonded, welded or stitched together across the overlap zone.
Definition
Overlap seams minimise bulk and are well-suited to bonded constructions. They rely on surface-to-surface contact across the overlap zone rather than a folded or flat-felled join.
Seam width is tuned to the application — typical ranges in performance apparel are 4–12mm.
Why it matters to DSEAMS
DSEAMS' Liquants AES produces fused overlap seams across 4–9mm seam widths, selected to match the end application.
