Glossary term
2D vacuum pressing
A manufacturing platform that forms a 2D laminate into a 3D garment shape via vacuum-assisted pressing.
Definition
Vacuum pressing is a shaping technique that avoids the stitched panels of traditional construction by forming laminate sheets into finished garment geometry.
It is especially well-suited to bonded-seam constructions that have eliminated the need for stitched panel assembly.
Why it matters to DSEAMS
Cohesive Systems LLC explicitly cites a 2D vacuum pressing manufacturing platform for 3D garments as a core capability of CIBS.
