Glossary term
Low-melt yarn
A yarn that melts or softens at a lower temperature than standard textiles, enabling heat-activated bonding without damaging surrounding fibres.
Definition
Low-melt yarns activate at temperatures typically in the 70–120°C range, well below the melt points of most base textile fibres.
This makes them ideal for sensitive laminations involving membranes, tricots and heat-vulnerable fabrics.
Why it matters to DSEAMS
Low-temperature melt is a named core benefit of Seperb Liquiyarn — reducing thermal damage and enabling easier lamination.
