Glossary term
Knit plating
A knit technique that combines two or more yarns in the same stitch, with one presented to the face and the other to the back.
Definition
Plating allows knit designers to place different yarn attributes where they are functionally or aesthetically useful.
For example, a moisture-wicking yarn on the skin side with a durable or repellent yarn on the outer face.
